In response to increasing demand for our services, Sovereign Homes saw a need for bigger, custom-built facilities in 2004.
A local corner store and residence with character importance in the inner-south suburb of Tarragindi provided an ideal location. The property offered us a canvas to showcase the very finest quality design features, fixtures, and finishes.
Over several months, we transformed what had been a tired looking shop front into a stunning showroom and modern offices. With a clever approach to external finishes, understated signage and practical landscaped gardens, the office aesthetics remained in-keeping with the surrounding neighbourhood in a predominately residential area.
“What we saw was an opportunity to renovate and remodel the existing building as a direct example of the work Sovereign Homes can achieve. You’d be surprised at the number of people who call in to this day and can remember it being the local corner store.
The ability to renovate a character building and not change its soul—but actually enhance it—is definitely something I am very proud of. Often visitors’ first comments to me once they step through the door are about how much they love the office. To still hear that, so many years after completion, reinforces the decision to relocate and renovate in the first place.
I believe that maintaining the general character of a suburb is in part the responsibility of people who renovate their homes. It’s exciting to be part of that process.”
